Proenza’s School of Confident Women

Proenza Schouler has achieved leaps and bounds in the field of womens fashion, yet what we often see from the label are feminine dresses and very rarely do we see a hard edge. Proenza Schouler surprises us again this season with confident women sporting innovative designs that are created to make you salivate.

I am not typically a fan of cut-outs, but in this case, they are doing a service to this overall look, as the circles catch the eye, guiding the spectator along the bodice. When the cut-outs end, what begins? The deep v-neck adds femininity to the blazer and it is kept simple, so as not to distract from the more adventurous pant. As an ensemble, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez have created a wonderful silhouette, incorporating this season’s ‘slouch’ and making it all their own.

It is all about the pant with Schouler this season and the dynamic duo of McCollough/Hernandez do not disappoint. The geometric, almost optical illusion-inducing jumpsuit immediately struck me as one of this season’s covetable fashons. Well tailored, flashy and fashion forward, the Schouler ‘geo-glimmer’ wide-leg jumpsuit is paired with a simple, yet well-tailored blazer and basic white tee. Shake all of your preconceptions of beauty this Spring, because the new confidence is hot and I can’t wait to see it in the concrete jungle.

Adventurous women look no further, because this jumpsuit is positively stunning , and matched with a bra , this look is as easy as jump up and go. Completely flashy and ostensibly fashion forward, Schouler shocks and delights with this glistening creation.  The tapered leg, just above the ankle creates emphasis on a killer heel, while also drawing attention to its slouchy structure. This look is relaxed, yet effortless and beautiful, making it a perfect look for drinks or a fun night on the town. Walking the dog? Hell yes.
