Albam Fall/Winter 2010

Albam’s Fall/Winter offerings have a classical bend to them that makes their collection accessible for most men’s wardrobes, from a shawl collar on a cardigan to a tailored plaid undershirt.

A fit-for-tundra trail parka is kept minimal in design, with simple button details and a a remarkable hood for warmth. Albam styled the look with a thick knit turtleneck, which captures the naval/military aesthetic seen in a lot of fall/winter collections. What I like most about the parka is its work wear appeal – but the finely stitched contrast lining (Japanese chambray) makes it less forgettable than the average Dickies favourite.

A favourite look of mine for fall/winter is layering textures and Albam shows off with finesse in their application of  hard wear fabrication – the use of chambray, pigment dyed canvas and melton wool create multiple layers of interest without creating the bulk we commonly associate with the colder months.

You can see more examples of their way with layering below – each example understated, but interesting upon examination of the details (taped seams for water resistance, antiqued brass RiRi zippers and anatomical sleeves are among just some of the unique features of Albam’s latest offerings).
